Devouring Time
Devouring Time was an installation show made for my senior year capstone exhibition. My main goal with the show was to blend together my technical skills in digital fabrication and photography as well as place a heavy focus on light. Light is an important part of my work, not only is it a core technical component of photography but illumination is a concept that I have explored in a lot of my undergrad work and would like to continue to explore in graduate school. With these lamps I am working to conceptualize my personal experience of growth in a small southern town by relating the lamps to poems I wrote to personalize my connection, but leaving the imagery and poems up to interpretation. The pieces have a foggy feel, like a memory or a moment in time, which helps the viewer connect their personal memories with the imagery on the lamps .All photos from the project were taken in my hometown of Toccoa, Georgia.
